Answers to your most common questions end of life support
This is the hardest question any pet guardian will ever have to make. When do you say goodbye? How do you know your pet is ready? What if you do it too soon or worse, too late? Every situation is different and there is no black and white guide, unfortunately.
My recommendation is to look at the quality of life your beloved pet is living, rather than the quantity.
Think about the things your pet absolutely loves; are they food driven? However, they are now not eating or coming for treats.
Do they love to greet you at the door when you arrive home or greet visitors? Although this can change are they still excited and interactive or has this stopped?
Animals will slow down and their behaviour will change, but is the joy still there? If this is fading or has started to fade this is often the answer.
Then above all that; you need to remember you know your pet best. No vet will give you the answer, but we can try and guide you. Often you will know when it is time, trust your instincts.

We aim to provide a painless and peaceful procedure in a familar, calm environment. The process includes an intitial sedative to relax your pet that is given as an injection. This process can take anywhere from 5-10 minutes for your animal to relax. The sedation helps to enusre your animal is a stress-free as possible. We are guided by you and we make sure you and your pet never feel rushed or presured. Once your animal is sedated we then give an overdose of an anesthetic. We are always happy to talk through any step of the process in detail beforeharnd or during. Please get in touch if you have any questions.
When that time comes, in our opinion it is so important for the experience to be beautiful for the family and peaceful for the pet.
Going to an animal's house rather than a clinic keeps the stress levels at minimum, especially with cats or animals that hate to travel. It also means that other pets, the rest of the family can all be there to surround their pet with love.
While it is incredibly hard and so sad to say goodbye; it is also so beautiful to experience death this way.
We can help organise this process for you whether you would like a home burial, cremation or aquamation. If needed we can organise transport of your pet.
