Joanne Lonergan, or Dr. Jo as she's fondly known, started her journey in Wellington before embarking on a global adventure that took her to places like Texas, Dubai, Singapore, and South Africa.
After selling her practice in 2019, she moved back to New Zealand with her daughter. Dr. Jo has since worked in various practices and shelters, expanding her expertise to include acupuncture and rehabilitation.
Her holistic approach ensures she looks at every aspect of an animal's health, aiming to prevent issues rather than just treat symptoms.
From lions and rhinos in South Africa to the beloved pets of New Zealand, Dr. Jo is dedicated to making veterinary visits as pleasant as possible.

She returned to New Zealand to earn her Bachelor of Veterinary Science from Massey University in 2009.
Certified as a Fear Free professional, she loves exploring the Kapiti Coast's natural beauty in her free time, whether it's beach walks, ocean swims, or bike rides.
Her career then led her to Tasmania, where she honed her skills in a mixed animal practice, even working with Australian wildlife. In 2013, she opened her own practice, which flourished with a team of vets, nurses, and support staff.
